Account Manager, ZOO Advertising

​2014 - present

 

​As an Account Manager, I act as the 'glue' between my portfolio of clients and the agency. The two key components of my role are project management and client relationship management. I help clients to achieve outcomes by efficiently managing projects through the agency, while ensuring the solutions delivered are meeting and exceeding the client's requirements. I work closely with the Managing Director, Creative Director, Art Directors, Designers and Developers to produce high-quality work for ZOO's clients. 

 

Key activities:

  • Consistenty meeting and exceeding the expectations of my portfolio of clients 

  • Managing advertising and marketing projects, overseeing the production stages

  • Managing client relationships, including building strong relationships with new clients and strengthening relationships with existing clients

  • Ensuring creative solutions meet the client's objectives, brief and budget

  • Briefing creative, media, and digital staff on the client's requirements

  • Handling budgets, including quotes and invoicing for my clients 

  • Working closely with the creative, strategy, media and digital teams to deliver outputs

  • Writing proposals for new business and pitches 

 

 

Policy and Engagement Officer, Digital Economy Policy,
Department of Communications

​2013 - 2014

 

The Digital Economy Policy section focused on Australia’s digital economy strategy and advising on policy issues and trends in the digital economy. The section also promoted the benefits of online participation to businesses, not-for-profits and households, and lead the Department’s engagement on Twitter and Gov 2.0 channels. 

 

Key activities:

  • Providing strategic policy advice on the digital economy

  • Monitoring and advising on digital trends 

  • Drafting speech content and briefs for Malcolm Turnbull MP

  • Social media (Twitter @CommsAu) 

  • Writing content for and promoting the DigitalBusiness.gov.au website 

  • Promoting and analysing web traffic for the InternetBasics.gov.au website 

  • Stakeholder engagement 

  • Event coordination, including the 2014 Korea-Australia-New Zealand (KANZ) Technology Summit

  • Communication aspects of the Digital Communities programs including promotion, media, branding, advertising, messaging and PR.

 

 

Communication and Events Officer, Digital Communities,
Department of Communications

​2012 - 2013

 

 I managed communication aspects of three multimillion dollar national initiatives - the Digital Hubs, Digital Enterprise and Virtual Advisor programs. The Digital Communities Programs aim to bridge the digital divide in Australia by providing funding for free computer and internet training. The programs were closely linked to the Australian Government's National Broadband Network (NBN) initiative.

  • Social media strategy, content development and analysis

  • Media monitoring

  • Event coordination, particularly launch events and media doorstops 

  • Providing advertising and communications advice to service providers

Program Officer, Cyber Safety, 
Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy

2013

 

The Cyber Safety section developed policy to improve the online safety of children. My team and I consulted thousands of Australian children on cyber safety policy issues and maintained a strong understanding of the online behaviour of young people. In addition to this, the team maintained and promoted online cyber safety resources, including the Easy Guide to Socialising Online and the Cyber Safety Help Button. 

 

Key activities:

  • Online consultations with the Youth Advisory Group on cyber safety

  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the online behaviour of young people

  • Preparation of briefs, reports, documents and minutes

  • Management of stakeholder relations and communication

  • Moderation of online discussion forums

  • Management of promotional material 

  • Supervision of junior staff

 

 

Web Project Officer, Online Engagement Strategy,
Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy

2012

 

The Online Engagement Strategy Section focused on strategic online communications and engagement. I worked on the InternetBasics.gov.au website from concept development stage through to completion. The website is essentially an 'introduction to the internet'. The website was developed to help people with low-digital literacy gain the skills they need to participate online, using best-practice user-centred design principles based on extensive market research. 

 

Key activities:

  • Development of the Internet Basics website concept

  • Information architecture design

  • Market research and analysis

  • Communications strategy

  • Copywriting and editing online content

  • Coordination of accessibility components to ensure compliance with AA WCAG

  • Coordination of the video post-production process

  • Management of stakeholders

  • Drafting storyboards and video scripts 

  • Coordination of User Acceptance Testing 

  • Website analytics

 

 

Communication Officer, Design and Interactive Communication, Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy

​2011  

 

The Design and Interactive Communication section provided communication support to the Department, including graphic design, internal communications, publishing, videography and photography. My key focus was on internal communications within the Department.

 

Key activities:

  • Sourcing, writing and editing news stories and daily announcements

  • Editing documents for print and web publishing

  • Assisting in video production and photography projects

  • Creating internal advertising campaigns

  • Managing the internal communications publishing schedule

 

 

College Graduate
Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy

​2011

 

I was selected as one of six college graduates nationwide to participate in the DBCDE graduate program. The program offered six high-performing college graduates an opportunity to undertake three work rotations across a 12 month period, whilst undertaking a variety of career development training.
